Big Bend National Park has been on our travel wish list for a while, so when the opportunity arose to go with some local photographers for a styled shoot, I was all in!! As if the opportunity to shoot alongside these amazing people – some of which I was already blessed to call friends- wasn’t enough, we were able to have Benjamin Clifford (a fantastic dramatic landscape couples photographer from Arizona) come along and help coach us on some fun tips and tricks for engaging your couples during photos! Which is fantastic because so many of you love the “candid” photo look! I loved that we didn’t hire models for this event, but instead used real couples from our group. My husband and I were the couple for the sunset cliffside shoot and oh my gosh!! Being up there, overlooking the canyon dressed in a huuuuge flowy tulle skirt with my handsome husband by my side was an experience I will never forget! Poor guy, he was such a trooper when it was time to throw my skirt to catch the breeze. He was running down the hillside in dress shoes and dodging cactus haha! Thank God he didn’t trip! I cannot wait to finish painting the walls of our home and get those images hung!! Well- I digress lol! Onward to the shoot!
Anna is actually a great friend of mine! Our oldest kiddos went to kindergarten together and our next youngest are just a few months apart in age. They all love each other so much! Isn’t she stunning in that gorgeous golden light?!
I was wowed when the florals were revealed! Kara with Kara Pyle Floral Designs did such a beautiful job capturing our vision for the shoot- and those ribbons blowing in the breeze were the perfect finishing touch!
La Casa Frieda is a local shop here in San Antonio that we were thrilled to work with! This Mexican inspired boutique specializes in unique and one of a kind handmade items from all over Mexico. Their pieces are all so unique and stunning! Seriously- modeling their earrings renewed my love for statement pieces haha! You should seriously check them out!
This shoot was such an amazing experience! Are you up for an adventure?! Lets chat about booking your destination engagement or wedding shoot! I would love to make your vision come to life!
I suppose I can’t blog about this amazing trip with my family and not show them to you 😊 Here is a few candid’s from our adventures. We went to the Gage Hotel and saw the most stunning art displays of cattle skulls, hula hooped on a porch and searched for souvenir treasures in TerlinguaGhost Town, and visited the Fossil Discovery Exhibit in Big Bend National Park! My boys are the sweetest!!!
